THE DISPENSATIONS OF INNOCENCE (Genesis 2:7-3:24).
THE DISPENSATIONS OF INNOCENCE (Genesis 2:7-3:24).

The first dispensation is the Dispensation of Innocence (Genesis 1:28-30 and 2:15-17) God provided for Adam what He Himself desires, that is fellowship and communion with a being of like nature.

This dispensation covered the period of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. In this dispensation, God’s commands were to;

THE DISPENSATIONS OF INNOCENCE (Genesis 2:7-3:24).

(1) replenish the earth with children,

(2) subdue the earth,

(3) have dominion over the animals,

(4) care for the garden, and

(5) abstain from eating the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

God warned of the punishment of physical and spiritual death for disobedience. This dispensation was short-lived and was brought to an end by Adam and Eve’s disobedience in eating the forbidden fruit and their expulsion from the garden.

THE DISPENSATIONS OF INNOCENCE (Genesis 2:7-3:24).
THE DISPENSATIONS OF INNOCENCE (Genesis 2:7-3:24).

This was the first, of, human, dispęnsations. it existed during the time Adam and Eve lived in the garden of Eden without sin. There is no Bible record of the duration of time from their creation to the time of the fall. However, the Scripture says that God visited them in the cool of the day,” probably in the evening. Why it is called Innocence Adam, and; Eve was created perfectly. They knew, no sin, neither by thought nor by practice.

They could not distinguish between good, from evil. They were created immortal beings and were, given the power to choose right or wrong. Adam was given dominion over other creatures (Genesis 1:26), He was a type of Christ, the last Adam (1 Corinthians 15:45), who had power over nature. Adam was a direct son of God in the human (Luke,3:38), as, Christ was the divine Son, of God (Luke 3:22).

Adam could understand what happened in his subconscious state. He understood Eves’s source of being; hence he said “This is the bone of my bones and the flesh of my flesh.” He could hear, understand, and communicate with lower animals (Genesis 3:1-5). He could give names to all animate beings. As an image of God. It was from this perfect and sinless nature that he fell to sinful and depraved nature.

From the mention of the two rivers, Euphrates and Hiddekel (Tigris), we gather that this region was located somewhere near the headwaters of these rivers in the present land of Armenia. In creating Eve, God provided for Adam what He Himself desires, that is fellowship and communion with a being of like nature.

The Creation Of Eve

“Not out of his head to top him, Nor out of his foot to be crushed by him,” writes Matthew Henry of the creation of the woman, “but out of his side to be equal with him, under his arm to be protected by him, and near his heart to be loved.” Henry: Man is a morally free agent with complete freedom of choice. God just prohibited eating the fruit of one tree in the garden. Henry: It’s likely that God-hatred and man jealousy were the driving forces for Satan’s entrance into the garden as the serpent (also known as the “Shining Lone”).

The Fall Of Man.

According to Genesis 3:14,15-3:24, the human race has suffered greatly as a result of his triumph. In order to protect the path leading to the tree of life, He drove the man out of the garden and had the cherubim occupy the space to the east of it (Hebrew paraphrase). Adam and Eve and the serpent both experienced God’s wrath.

God provided skins to hide His creatures’ nakedness as a sign of His love for them. The skins served as proof that the creature, who died in their place, had actually passed away. The spilt-out life of God’s Lamb, Jesus Christ, is compared to the shedding of an animal’s blood.

THE TEST

THE DISPENSATIONS OF INNOCENCE (Genesis 2:7-3:24).
THE DISPENSATIONS OF INNOCENCE (Genesis 2:7-3:24).

The test was based on the forbidden tree (Genesis 2:16-17). He was asked not to eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The purpose of the test was to prove man’s wilful obedience to God. This is because man was created as a free moral agent, unlike other planets that are run by natural laws and lower animals that are controlled by instinct.

FAILURE

Satan through the agency of the serpent deceived the woman (Eve) by saying Ye shall not surely die; For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil” (Genesis 3:4-5). By this the devil injected into her lust, greed, doubt and consequently denial of God’s Word, so she took the fruit and ate together with her husband. They lost their perfect nature.

JUDGMENT

God judged them, with curses and expulsion from the garden. God made redemption promises for them (Genesis 3:15). The curse and expulsion ended the dispensation of innocence. God provided for them animal skin for covering. It is believed that with this animal God offered sacrifice for their sin. Thus sacrifice for sin was introduced. God changed His method of dealing with man since his conscience has been awakened to know good and evil.

NOTE: Adam had no issue with his innocence. He got his children after the incident of the fall. The curse affected his descendants, for the Scripture says, “Death reigned from Adam to Moses. even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’ s transgression” (Romans 5:14).

Conclusion.

Genesis 3:15 made a promise about God’s final response to the sin issue. God, in His grace, would send a Redeemer who was born in a different way. This Savior would offer the means to escape the sin nature we inherited from Adam and would be wholly innocent. According to 1 Corinthians 15:45, Jesus Christ is the “Last Adam,” having sacrificed Himself as the ultimate sin offering for all those who put their faith in Him (1 Peter 3:18).

  1. Wow, what a spiritual article here. It’s really good to read something like this.

God’s words are always true and one should obey God’s words. God is the one and he is the only way to eternal life, as attested by the Bible. As humans, we need to receive Jesus Christ in order to live with Him forever in Heaven.

People believe in God because they feel that the words of God are true and not because they have any rational or scientific evidence. They are encouraged to trust God and believe in Him because He will never mislead them.

The Bible mentions that Adam and Eve were created from the dust of the earth. The first human beings were also given a commandment to not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

What happens when they disobey this commandment?

This is where the story takes a turn. The Bible says that God expelled them from the Garden of Eden because they ate from this forbidden tree.

God’s promise to send a Redeemer is so powerful. What if God had not made that promise? What if we would never have been given the gift of salvation? Though sin has corrupted our thoughts and actions, there is still hope for an escape.

I am feeling very spiritual to read this article because you have written it so beautifully. I would like to thank you for being such a talented writer and for taking the time to write this well-written article.

    • Thank you Prashan I love your reason and k knowledge of God’s word sir. yes, I agree with you that sin has corrupted our thoughts and actions and that there is still hope for an escape.

this has been where many people get it wrong, they thought that receiving Christ in one’s life automatically restores God’s image so authentic and the same as Adam and Eve before the fall.

this is not so. what we have is a wrapped image of God, not an original image of God.

God’s image means his representative and that was why God never allowed Israel to make for themselves graven images because He already has one in Man.

but in a born again lies God’s image, yet not like Adam; eg believers still feel sick, die, lack, beaten and killed by animals. non of which affected the first and original images of God ” Adam and Eve“.

we as believers still have an opportunity to return to this full image of God if we live and die in Christ, we shall inherit the new Jerusalem and will be fully transformed into His complete image as we live above sin.

thanks so much for this well-thought-through comment Prashan, and God bless.

Religion is a moral compass that helps us become best version of ourselves. I am so grateful that I was brought up in a Christian home. Although I didn’t understand it, I knew it was relevant. Particularly in times of stress and grief, it gives individuals, couples, families, and communities hope and comfort to know that tomorrow would bring a new day and new strength.

What we learned early on, came directly from my mum. I was able to forgive, respect everyone, child or adult, and I learned, patience, honesty and tolerance and trust in God along the way. I also accredit my present beliefs with my Christian upbringing. However, religion in the wrong hands can have a deleterious effect. For example, Jim Jones.

Many people are skeptical of religion because of false prophets and because of what has happened in terms of the corruption within the Catholic church that has been covered up. On the other hand, in my perception, Christianity is constant and in its purest state, cannot be defiled or corrupt. Therefore, it is so-called Christians that are the source of corruption, not Christianity, per se.

I admire your commitments and dedication to the laws of God. Our world would be a better place with more individuals like yourself. You are going to a great asset to the kingdom of God.
